Legal Counsel in Group Compliance

As a Legal Counsel in DNV Group Compliance, you have the unique opportunity to shape global compliance strategies, deliver impactful legal advice, and be an integral part of an international team that reaches every major part of the globe. DNV Group Compliance’s purpose is to maintain and develop DNV’s Group-wide compliance management system with focus areas on anti-corruption, anti-trust, export control & sanctions, personal data protection, and supply chain law. We prove advisory and legal services and add value to and improve DNV’s operations, as well as promoting integrity and ethical business conduct across the organization.

Group Compliance works globally, with four members based in Norway (Høvik/Oslo) and two members based in Germany (Hamburg). We meet on a regular basis to ensure close collaboration. We are headed by the Group Compliance Officer located in Norway. The Group Compliance Officer reports directly to the Board of Directors (Audit Committee) and the Group CEO on Group Compliance program, developments and compliance incidents.

We are now searching for a Legal Counsel, to join our team at either Oslo or Hamburg. We are looking for a curious and self-driven candidate with experience in Compliance topics – preferably export control and sanctions – as well as project management skills to join our team.

Area of responsibility for the position:

  • Legal advice under the scope of Group Compliance with an emphasis on export control law/ sanctions
  • Handle compliance cases related to all topics in Group Compliance in alignment with other internal units, coordination of investigations
  • Drive awareness through communication measures incl. global training initiatives like organizing classroom trainings, participate in global compliance networks to keep awareness on a high level and facilitate interaction with the business areas
  • Participate in developing Group-wide instructions and guidelines
  • Collaborate with other internal units to develop and implement elements of the sustainability strategy aligned with the company\’s values and goals, advise on sustainability reporting and disclosure obligations.
