Within the Asset Management team in the Power Grids business area, we support our clients in navigating the Energy Transition and improving their asset management performance. To strengthen our team, we are looking for a Junior Strategic Asset and Congestion Management Consultant who is enthusiastic and proactive, eager to learn, contribute to high‑quality project delivery, and develop over time into a trusted advisor.
In this role, you will support client projects focused on optimising asset and system performance, addressing congestion challenges, and translating technical analyses into practical insights. You will work closely with experienced consultants in multidisciplinary teams responsible for project delivery, knowledge development, and client support.
You bring:
- A solid technical foundation, with interest in asset management principles and relevant (international) standards;
- Basic understanding of asset‑related processes in utilities, infrastructure, or industrial environments.
- Curiosity about digitalisation and the changing energy landscape, with motivation to apply modelling, simulation, and data analysis tools in practical project settings.
- Interest in congestion management or system performance challenges, with the ambition to develop analyses and ideas into practical, real‑world solutions.
At DNV, junior consultants are supported in building a strong professional foundation. You start by contributing to complex, high‑impact projects for leading clients across the energy and infrastructure sector, working closely with experienced consultants who provide guidance and coaching. As you grow into a medior role, you take greater ownership of deliverables, contribute more independently to analyses and client discussions, and apply your expertise across a wider range of topics. This development prepares you to progress into a senior consultant role, where you combine deep technical expertise with a strong consulting mindset, shaping project outcomes, supporting colleagues, and contributing to client relationships and thought leadership.
We offer a professional environment that enables this progression through meaningful work. You develop your skills through hands‑on project delivery, structured feedback, cross‑disciplinary collaboration, and access to deep specialist networks. Learning is embedded in day‑to‑day work, allowing you to steadily strengthen your technical capabilities, consulting skills, and professional impact.
What sets DNV apart is the close link between purpose and professional consulting work, where project delivery directly contributes to safer, more reliable, and sustainable energy systems. You will be part of an international team of asset management and energy experts, where shared knowledge and high‑quality delivery support continuous learning and development.
As a junior consultant, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support asset health indexing activities, digitalisation initiatives, and data driven asset insights;
- Assist in interpreting condition assessments and preparing inputs for planning, budgeting, and decision making;
- Support project teams by analysing asset management processes and helping translate technical insights into practical improvements in maintenance, compliance, and investment decisions;
- Contribute to congestion management projects at strategic and tactical levels under guidance of senior consultants;
- Support proposal development and business development activities;
- Travel occasionally, nationally and internationally.
DNV is an Equal Opportunity Employer and gives consideration for employment to qualified applicants without regard to gender, religion, race, national or ethnic origin, cultural background, social group, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, age or political opinion. Diversity is fundamental to our culture, and we invite you to be part of this diversity.
We are looking for a team-oriented consultant with a strong technical foundation, who is motivated to learn how technical analysis translates into business and strategic decisions. You enjoy working collaboratively, take ownership of your tasks, and are keen to develop your consulting skills.
The required qualifications include:
- 0 to 3 years of experience in asset management, engineering, consulting, or related technical domains;
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering (or related field); a master’s degree is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to contribute to clear reports and presentations;
- Familiarity with process mapping, basic analyses, and structured problem solving;
- Interest in digitalisation initiatives and data-driven analysis;
- Basic understanding of risk, asset behaviour, and lifecycle considerations;
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. Dutch native proficiency is required.
- Interest in the impact of the Energy Transition on power grids;
- Ability to work effectively with colleagues from different disciplines;
- Willingness to learn how to interact with clients, support solution adoption, and contribute to long-term client relationships;
- Experience supporting project delivery in a structured and quality-driven environment;
- Ability to work on defined tasks within projects, manage your own deliverables, and escalate issues when needed;
- Basic familiarity with project management and quality assurance practices.
Your home office will be in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Security and compliance with statutory requirements in the countries in which we operate is essential for DNV. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates as part of the offer process, in accordance with applicable country-specific laws and practices.
