At DNV’s Artificial Intelligence Research Center in Shanghai, our research spans multiple domains, including IoT, computer vision, large language models, foundation models, generative AI, and AI agents. We are dedicated to advancing AI technologies that support real-world applications across various DNV business segments, including maritime, energy systems, digital assurance, and more.
As a Data Annotation Intern, you will join the research team supporting the development of high-quality datasets for AI model training and validation. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Completing data annotation tasks for images, text, and other data types according to project requirements.
- Conducting quality checks and organizing annotated data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Assisting the team in maintaining and updating datasets to support ongoing AI research and development.
Structured training and guidance from experienced data operations specialists and AI team members will be provided, along with hands-on experience with industry-scale data annotation workflows across maritime, energy, and digital assurance domains. You will also gain exposure to AI/ML data pipelines, including quality control, labeling standards, and best practices.
Internship Duration: 4-6 months
Availability: At least 3 working days per week
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is interested in data annotation and AI development. You should meet the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher (major not restricted).
- Responsible, patient, and detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.
- Good command of understanding and strong communication skills.
- Prior experience in data annotation or related internships is a plus.
- Basic understanding of computer vision, deep learning, or related fields is a plus.
Security and compliance with statutory requirements in the countries in which we operate is essential for DNV. Background checks will be conducted on all final candidates as part of the offer process, in accordance with applicable country-specific laws and practices.
