We are recruiting a Vice President – Operations Digital Transformation & AI Delivery to join a newly established transformation function within a major global financial services organisation. This is a senior technology-enabled transformation and delivery leadership role, responsible for managing a small team delivering automation, digitalisation and AI-enabled solutions across a complex Operations environment.

This is not an AI Engineer position, nor is it purely a traditional Programme Manager role. We are looking for someone who understands technology and automation at a meaningful level, but who has progressed into team leadership, programme delivery and senior stakeholder management. An ideal candidate may have started their career within development, business analysis, automation or technical transformation, before moving into management.

The organisation is undertaking a significant programme to modernise its Operations environment. Across the business there are numerous manual processes, spreadsheets, legacy databases and workflows which have evolved over many years. The transformation team is responsible for identifying where these processes can be redesigned, automated or replaced using modern technology. The focus is not simply implementing AI for the sake of AI. It is about fixing underlying operational processes and using automation, digital tools and emerging AI capabilities to improve productivity, controls, service quality and operational resilience.

The team uses technologies including:

  • Microsoft Power Platform – Power Apps, Power Automate and Power BI
  • PEGA and comparable automation platforms
  • Python
  • Workflow and process automation technologies

You will take ownership of the day-to-day management and delivery of the transformation team's book of work, ensuring initiatives move from problem identification through to successful implementation. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a small team of transformation, automation and technical delivery specialists
  • Managing a portfolio of automation and digital transformation initiatives
  • Setting priorities and ensuring commitments, milestones and deliverables are tracked effectively
  • Running day-to-day delivery activities including stand-ups, planning and progress reviews
  • Providing oversight of automation solutions already deployed into the business
  • Ensuring solutions remain stable, controlled, supported and continuously improved
  • Working with Operations teams to identify manual or inefficient processes which can be redesigned
  • Challenging existing processes and helping define the "as-is" and "to-be" operating model
  • Overseeing the development of prototypes and production solutions
  • Managing delivery across Power Platform, RPA and other automation technologies
  • Translating technical issues into clear management-level updates
  • Preparing programme updates, presentations and committee papers
  • Managing senior stakeholders across Operations, Technology and Transformation
  • Establishing appropriate delivery standards, controls and governance
  • Tracking measurable benefits including productivity improvements, capacity creation, risk reduction and control enhancement
  • Supporting the wider adoption of AI, automation and digital transformation across Operations
