An international banking group with a long-standing presence in global shipping finance is looking to add an experienced professional to its EMEA Ship Finance team in London. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex cross-border financings for leading ship owners and operators across multiple maritime sectors. You’ll take a leading role in originating, structuring, and executing secured lending transactions while helping drive the growth of a high-performing front-office business. The position combines relationship management, transaction execution, portfolio oversight, and market-facing business development across both primary and secondary opportunities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Originating and executing ship finance transactions across EMEA
  • Building relationships with ship owners, operators, banks, and advisers
  • Assessing opportunities from both commercial and credit perspectives
  • Supporting negotiation and execution of finance documentation
  • Monitoring portfolio performance and client credit exposure
  • Contributing to broader business strategy and market development
  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders and Head Office teams

What you’ll need:

  • 3–5 years’ front-office experience within ship finance or structured lending
  • Strong understanding of maritime finance and shipping markets
  • Experience managing corporate client relationships and transactions
  • Solid credit analysis and financial modelling capability
  • Exposure to syndicated lending is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
