A leading local authority are seeking a skilled Payroll Officer to join their team on an interim basis, starting asap. You will play a key role in delivering a compliant, high-quality payroll service to over 15,000 employees across the County Council and partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services.
  • Maintain data integrity in SAP and ensure GDPR compliance.
  • Lead user testing for system upgrades and legislative changes.
  • Support system enhancements, reporting, and statutory submissions.
  • Advise on payroll matters and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Deputise for the Payroll Manager as needed.
About You:
  • Experience working with SAP Payroll and strong Excel (incl. Macros/VBA) skills.
  • Solid understanding of payroll legislation and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
Desirable:
  • CIPP or relevant payroll/accounting qualification.
