The SHEQ Manager (Project Focus) ensures all project activities comply with Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) standards. Collaborating closely with project teams, this role ensures adherence to regulatory, contractual, and company-specific SHEQ requirements from planning through execution to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Health & Safety Management: Develop and implement project-specific Health and Safety plans and risk assessments. Conduct safety audits, site inspections, and incident investigations. Ensure appropriate safety training for project personnel.
  • Environmental Compliance: Develop Environmental Management Plans and oversee compliance. Conduct environmental risk assessments and monitor project environmental impacts. Promote sustainable practices and manage environmental incidents.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and manage Quality Management Systems for project deliverables. Conduct quality audits, manage non-conformance reports, and oversee corrective actions.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Identify and manage SHEQ-related project risks, providing proactive mitigation solutions. Ensure compliance with legal and contractual SHEQ obligations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting: Communicate effectively with project teams and stakeholders. Prepare and present regular SHEQ performance reports to management and clients. Liaise with regulatory bodies and third-party auditors.
  • Training & Development: Identify and deliver project-specific SHEQ training. Ensure competency of all project personnel, including contractors.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement lessons learned for ongoing improvement in SHEQ practices. Conduct project reviews and post-project audits.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing SHEQ for large-scale projects (construction, engineering, energy).
  • Experience in risk management and compliance.

  • Proficient in MS Office and project management software.
