Senior Creature TDs (Rigging TDs) at DNEG are integral in building rigs, ensuring technical feasibility and quality within production pipelines. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance, creating custom tools and scripts, collaborating with other artists and animators, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring character assets meet technical and artistic constraints.
Must Have
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the industry
- Strong Python and Maya scripting proficiency
- A strong understanding of anatomy, geometry, facial rigging and animation
- Experience with Unreal Engine and able to build real-time rigs
- In-depth knowledge of character rigging techniques and principles
- Providing support to more junior members of the team
- Development of the department standardised processes
- Keeping your work on schedule by managing productivity and cross department communication
Nice to Have
- An interest in anatomy or mechanics depending on your area of specialisation
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine tools and workflows, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving
- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems
