DNEG's Feature Animation division, which has gradually expanded over the past few years, is dedicated to realizing the creative visions of major Hollywood studios and independent productions. As we strive to establish ourselves as leading competitors in the industry, the role of our Character Technical Directors (TDs) is pivotal. You will be responsible for designing animation rigs for characters, creatures, props, and vehicles in close collaboration with our Rigging Supervisors and Animation Leads/Supervisors.
Must Have
- Proven years of experience with significant creature/character projects
- Thorough knowledge of their area of character specialization (body, face, mechanical rigs)
- Full working knowledge of Maya
- Comfortable with the technical aspects of character/creature work
- Strong visual and artistic skills
- Good understanding of human anatomy
- Mentoring skills for junior members
- Organizing task assignments, communicating with other departments, ensuring quality of output
- Familiarity with pipeline issues and character/creature-heavy post-production environment
- Extensive Python knowledge (OOP etc.)
- Linear Algebra and Vector Math
Nice to Have
- Maya API knowledge
- C++ QT or Pyside knowledge
