Key Responsibilities
DNEG is a leader in stylized and realistic effects focused on a variety of high-end projects. At DNEG VFX, Senior Compositors work closely with VFX Supervisors, Comp Leads & Supervisors and Lighters to compose multiple CG, MGFX and DMP elements that will complement the visual effects of a cut. The work is dedicated to the integration of complex CG, which means that compositors must be comfortable working with full CG, plates and hybrid cuts. Our Senior Compositors are part of daily client reviews and sessions and follow production methodologies to develop creative solutions to problems while performing all aspects of VFX Design composition. The Comp Supervisor works with the compositing artists in their team to use consistent methodologies to deliver the highest quality of work on time, on budget, and in a sustainable way. They are expected to solve technical problems, design the approach to shots and maintain the look and continuity of their sequences.
Must Have
- Minimum of 6 years VFX industry experience, at least 2 years as a senior compositor on high-end live-action feature films
- Mastery using Nuke
- Independent creative and technical problem solving
- A knowledge and interest in photography and practical lighting
- Showreel demonstrating a wide range of high-end work, predominantly plate based compositing, image manipulation, high end FX and CG integration with photography all finished to a high standard
- Must demonstrate a good eye for colour, composition and technical shot finishing and a proven ability to manage the complexity of work across multiple complex shots
