About The Role
Area Manager | Norfolk Region | DNA Vetcare Group | Up to £44,000 per annum
Are you a dedicated, quick-thinking and highly organised manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Due to continued growth across our clinics, we’re recruiting an Area Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running and long-term performance of our independent veterinary surgeries across the Norfolk region. Our surgery teams - including certificate-holding vets, high-calibre RVNs and customer service ambassadors - need an Area Manager who can lead with clarity, drive operational efficiency, and ensure every pet in our care receives the very best treatment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Line managing clinic teams across the area, providing clear direction, coaching and support
- Owning the P&L for your practices, with accountability for sustainable growth and cost control
- Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies — from diary management to patient flow — to keep practices running smoothly
- Ensuring effective use of clinicians across the area to reduce reliance on locums
- Working with HR to plan resourcing and rotas 6–12 months ahead
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and induction of new colleagues
- Leading regular review meetings to support your team's growth and development
- Managing absence, including return-to-work interviews and cover planning
- Driving service standards through client feedback, Google Reviews and NPS scoring
- Identifying marketing opportunities to support client growth and retention, including social media aligned to brand guidelines
- Ensuring compliance with clinical, H&S, and data protection protocols, and that certificates and inspections are up to date
- Keeping stock levels appropriate and aligned to the preferred medications list, and client debt within target
What we’re looking for:
You’ll have management experience getting the best from veterinary support teams, ideally within a similar Area or Practice Manager role. You’ll be comfortable owning a P&L, confident coaching and developing people, and equally happy rolling up your sleeves to solve problems on the ground. A strong customer service focus and the ability to motivate a team will set you apart. You’ll have the support of a team of highly experienced industry Directors, helping ensure your days are productive and rewarding.
This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence five days a week, with some flexibility around hours to support pet care.
