About The Role

Are you a passionate and experienced veterinary receptionist looking for an exciting opportunity in Dartford? Look no further! Here at Mead Veterinary Centre, we are looking for a dedicated individual to join our incredible team as a Veterinary Receptionist. Our practice is renowned for delivering exceptional care and service to our clients' lovely pets.

We pride ourselves on our commitment to providing the very best veterinary care while creating a warm and welcoming environment for our teams, our patients and their owners.

As a Veterinary Receptionist, you'll be the first point of contact for our clients, greeting them with a smile and giving their pets a good old fuss! You'll assist them with scheduling appointments, answering inquiries and providing general support.

This position will be covering 40 hours a week - over 5 days and 1:5 weekends with days back in lieu. Also, bank holidays will be shared equally between the reception team with TOIL.

Your day at Mead Vets could include:

  • Welcoming clients and their pets upon arrival
  • Booking appointments and arrivals on the RX Works diary
  • Helping to promote our Healthcare Plan so that pets are receiving premium discounted preventative treatment
  • Booking in follow-up appointments for the pet once they have left their initial consultation
  • Helping the Vet and Nurse team with queries
  • Being responsible for paperwork being scanned onto pets' digital records
  • Liaison with clients regarding queries for appointment booking and medication collection
  • Ordering food and medication
  • Taking payment immediately after treatment of the pet
  • 0% finance application processing for those clients wanting to spread the cost of payment for larger operations
  • Managing an extremely busy reception desk with efficiency and professionalism

About You

Ideally you will have:

  • Previous experience working as a Veterinary Receptionist or in a similar customer-facing role within the Veterinary or Medical Industry
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational abilities and be able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • A genuine love for animals and a commitment to delivering outstanding client service
  • Be proficient in computer systems and software, having experience using RxWorks is a MASSIVE plus!
  • Cuddling pets. Yes, that's a must. Pets are everything to our amazing teams.
