Reporting to the Head of Operations APAC, the APAC Demand Planning & Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in building reliable demand forecasts, translating demand into executable supply plans, and ensuring stock integrity across the APAC network. The role balances service level, cost, and working capital by adhering to the established inventory policies, coordinating replenishment, and driving accuracy in master data and stock records. Working closely with both external (Clients and Suppliers as well as 3PLs) and internal (Customer Service, Purchasing, Logistics, Finance) stakeholders, the position safeguards product availability, optimises inventory turns, and reduces obsolescence while maintaining rigorous process discipline in the ERP (Business Central).
This position suits someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, enjoys analytical problem solving, and is passionate about continuous improvement that delivers measurable efficiency gains, cost savings, and superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Build and maintain a reliable 12–18‑month demand forecast, incorporating seasonality, lifecycle stages, customer inputs and planning hierarchies.
- Analyse forecast accuracy, highlight risks and opportunities, and implement corrective actions.
- Translate approved demand into time‑phased supply plans, considering lead times, MOQs, logistics constraints and supplier capacity.
- Coordinate replenishment activities with Purchasing, ensuring timely PO creation, confirmations and follow‑through.
- Manage stock levels across all APAC locations to meet service level and inventory‑turn targets.
- Identify constraints early and propose mitigation options such as substitution, reallocation or shipment phasing.
- Lead stock accuracy performance, including cycle counts, variance investigation and root‑cause corrective actions.
- Reconcile ERP and 3PL WMS data, addressing discrepancies and strengthening preventive controls.
- Manage slow‑moving and obsolete stock reviews and recommend actions (markdowns, transfers, returns, write‑offs).
- Maintain accurate planning master data (lead times, MOQs, pack sizes, UoM, lifecycle parameters).
- Coordinate warehouse transfers and stock rebalancing to support availability and reduce backorders.
- Ensure stock status updates (quarantine/hold/release) are accurately reflected in system plans.
- Provide demand and supply insights for Sales & Operations cycles, including scenarios, assumptions and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Customer Service on stock availability, allocation rules and recovery plans during constraints.
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with aligned planning assumptions and write‑off risk assessments.
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance accuracy, reduce complexity and deliver cost savings.
- Support the implementation and rollout of new planning tools (e.g., Netstock).
- Maintain clear documentation including SOPs, work instructions and change logs.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements and regulatory standards.
- Provide flexible operational support to Purchasing and Customer Service during peak periods or absence.
Hands‑on, evidential experience in demand planning, supply planning or inventory management in a multi‑SKU, multi‑warehouse, multi‑3PL environment (APAC experience preferred). Proven experience improving forecast accuracy, service levels, inventory turns and reducing SLOB/expedite costs. Strong stock management and inventory control experience. Hands‑on ERP experience (Business Central ideal; SAP or equivalent also valued). Experience coordinating or supporting process or system improvement projects. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and data integrity. Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities independently. Clear communicator with strong verbal and written skills, confident presenting risks and trade‑offs. Proactive, structured problem solver with quick thinking and a solutions‑focused mindset. Collaborative and adaptable, comfortable working across functions and with external partners. Positive attitude and resilience in a fast‑paced environment.
