dnata Catering UK are actively seeking General Assistants to join our already successful and vibrant team at London Heathrow. As a General Assistant you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our catering and goods arrive with our airline customers on time in line with various scheduling requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production: Plating in-flight meals (Ensure the highest standards of food presentation)
  • Assisting the kitchen team
  • Maintain standards of food safety and hygiene per legislation and other statutory requirements and company rules and policies
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workstation
  • Promote good teamwork and work in a friendly, efficient manner
  • Weighing and packing the products
  • Undertake some manual handling/bending and reaching as part of your normal job duties
  • Ensure production packing deadlines are met
  • Quality & Weight check
  • Using and working with iPad

Please note your duties will include but are not limited to the above.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

  • Previous culinary experience
  • Good standard of numeracy
  • Basic checking skills
  • Ability to demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must have high standards of personal hygiene
  • Fast and efficient whilst working in a fast-paced and demanding kitchen
  • Ability to work under pressure with a high sense of urgency
  • A hard-working team player who is able to work both in a team and independently
  • Highly organised with the ability to multi-task and prioritise efficiently
  • Be able to handle pork and alcohol products
  • Be prepared to stand for long periods of time
  • Be prepared to work in a chilled environment
  • Have a basic understanding of English
