We are now recruiting for a Destination Manager to manage the product portfolio in Asia and India for Travelbag to ensure relevant market leading ground product is available to the offline sales team and consumer websites.

The role focuses on ensuring competitive products and offers are available, maintaining website content, driving commercial performance, and building strong supplier partnerships. Ensure customers and sales teams have access to competitive products, offers, and accurate content.

Working closely with purchasing, marketing, pricing, and suppliers to increase sales, improve conversion, secure commercial benefits, and deliver destination growth in line with overall Travelbag strategy.

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours a week

Job Accountabilities

  • Owning Asia and India - maximizing its potential growth
  • Own the trading performance across Travelbag for allocated destinations
  • Taking intuitive in understanding the market, current trends and how Travelbag fit within the market
  • Build and maintain strong relationships through excellent communication both with external suppliers and also internal stakeholders in all departments
  • Ensure market leading offers are in place on a consistent basis and for key destinations & suppliers through bed briefs to purchasing
  • Own the product/destination sales training for the allocated destinations
  • Own the relationship between Travelbag and the supplier
  • Own the planning and arrangement of FAM trips for allocated destinations
  • Work with the Head of Product to identify the product strategy for the region including the introduction of new destinations and delivery to the business
  • Support and turnaround any queries from Sales teams to ensure maximum conversion
  • Help develop the annual budget forecast with the Head of Product
  • Constant review of available product and brief purchasing of product strategy
  • Lead FAM trips where necessary to ensure participants get the most from the trips and they remain the resident expert within the brands
  • Sign off of promotional activity for their product/area
  • Attend the product/pricing weekly meetings to ensure all key developments within their area are communicated
  • Secure partnership marketing funding from key suppliers who fit within the overall product strategy
  • Work with suppliers to plan annual marketing spend in conjunction with the purchasing team
  • Work with the SEO, PPC and marketing teams to ensure appropriate share of voice for their area
  • Work with the Pricing team to ensure appropriate pricing is in place for the area
  • Ensure all loaded product displays the correct joining instructions for customers and operations
  • Attend all relevant trade show for their region both in the UK and abroad
  • Help organize consumer evenings with marketing and sales team and represent the product team at the event
  • Develop the Product Executives within the allocated region
  • Assist the executive in mapping, web content, merchandising, sales queries and sales barriers.

To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Significant experience within a tour operator in a similar role
  • Holds existing relationships with appropriate suppliers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of hotel contracts
  • High level of attention to detail and copy accuracy
  • Experience in product merchandising
  • Experience in people management (including coaching, training and motivating) an advantage
  • Experience in managing significant workloads and prioritising where necessary
  • Relevant destination and travel market knowledge essential
  • Thorough understanding of both online and offline marketing and how these impact trading in a consumer environment
  • Good analytical skills and numerate
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace
  • High levels of PC competence e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Understanding and experience of Travelbag’s internal systems would be an advantage
