The Role
Working alongside the Procurement QA manager and Procurement team’s Specialists, your role is key in supporting the team in policing the Quality of produce – food and non-food, PK and DLC from our supplier base. Using best practice associated with QA from other industries, the role will be engaged in supporting specification development, report generation and statistical analysis. The individual holding the role will be expected to work closely with Food Store, PK. A key requirement of the role is to ensure that a fact-based approach to quality and its measurement is the norm.
Key Responsibilities
- Checking incoming products at Goods In
- Checking raw materials in PK
- Report errors and anomalies to QA Manager with back up proof, detailed product information and disparity to specifications associated with quality failures
- Proactively communicate with internal & external customers, Procurement Specialists, and customer service team regarding QA issues.
- Provide reporting on supplier failures
- Following up on QA queries with suppliers
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Ideally previous experience of Quality Assurance preferably in food environment
- Knowledge and understanding of food safety legislation
- Dedication for high quality and consistency
- Strong IT skills, Intermediate or above in Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills – able to articulate points and be listened to
- Highly analytical and methodical approach
- Good verbal and written English
- Ability to structure workload, to plan and multi-task efficiently
- Food Hygiene Certificate at intermediate level or above – desirable
- Power BI or other analytical tools
