The Demi Chef de Partie plays an important role in supporting the Chef de Partie by managing a defined kitchen station with accountability for quality, consistency, and compliance. This position requires skilled food preparation and cooking in accordance with flight catering protocols, combined with leadership in supervising junior staff and ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesWhat you’ll be doing:
- Execute cooking and preparation duties with accuracy, following recipes and strict portion controls.
- Carry out taste checks to maintain flavour consistency in line with client and airline standards.
- Monitor cooking processes, including times and temperatures, to comply with food safety regulations.
- Ensure proper labelling, batch tracking, and documentation to uphold food traceability standards.
- Support and maintain kitchen hygiene compliance and ensure cleaning schedules and safety audits are completed correctly and on time.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in all food preparation, storage, and service areas.
- Handle inventory checks, stock rotation, and proper storage of food and catering equipment as instructed by the Sous chef.
- Oversee and drive initiatives to reduce food wastage and contribute to budget management.
- Update safety records accurately and participate actively in HACCP and safety programs.
- Mentor and support junior kitchen staff, promoting teamwork and professional development.
