We are now recruiting for a Touring Product Executive to provide specialist support to the Touring Product & Commercial Manager and wider Product & Commercial team, helping to raise the profile of touring as a key area of expertise within the B2B business. The role supports product planning, trading, content, pricing, campaigns, supplier liaison and sales enablement across online and offline channels. It ensures touring products are accurately represented, readily available for sale and supported by compelling offers, while identifying and resolving barriers to sale and helping the portfolio meet commercial and customer expectations.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 per week
Job Accountabilities
- Support the Touring Product & Commercial Manager with touring strategy, product plans and business plans, helping to raise awareness of the touring proposition across the business.
- Prepare and maintain accurate touring product, supplier, itinerary, departure, availability and pricing information across relevant systems and sales channels.
- Complete accurate mapping and enabling of new and existing touring products, checking rates, content and images and coordinating the resolution of associated issues.
- Support the review of trading conditions and sales performance, highlighting trends, opportunities and barriers to sale and helping agreed actions to be delivered.
- Accurately calculate competitive prices and offers within required timescales, ensuring credible availability at the advertised price and readiness for sale.
- Coordinate curated touring offers, tactical promotions and campaigns, including product selection, loading, tagging and communication to Marketing, Sales and other relevant teams.
- Compile competitor and market analysis, including product coverage, pricing, itineraries and promotions, to identify opportunities in new product development and emerging touring destinations.
- Assist with optimum touring paginations and digital merchandising, ensuring new and emerging product is introduced and poor-performing product is reviewed.
- Ensure touring product is accurately represented in brochures and all distribution media, with content, copy, inclusions, exclusions and itinerary information checked for accuracy.
- Work with internal contracting, ground service and commercial teams to support supplier and brand requirements and maintain a flow of market-leading or exclusive offers.
- Build effective working relationships with touring operators, DMCs and other suppliers, following up offers, content, operational information and actions in a timely manner.
- Coordinate and resolve touring product, brochure and system issues, including sales queries and barriers to booking, through professional cross-departmental working.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries promptly and accurately, escalating commercial, contractual or operational matters when appropriate.
- Monitor customer feedback and product quality information, supporting continual review to ensure the portfolio meets or exceeds agreed standards and customer expectations.
- Develop strong knowledge of the touring portfolio and wider sector, sharing launch, product and destination updates across the business.
- Coordinate and support touring product training for Sales and other relevant departments, including supplier-led sessions and supporting materials.
- Support the creation and delivery of internal and external familiarisation trips, trade events and product launches where required.
- Identify opportunities to improve product processes, data quality and ways of working, supporting the manager and senior team with ad hoc business requests.
To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- Educated to GCSE or O Level standard with Grade C or above in Maths and English, or equivalent.
- Travel & Tourism qualification desirable.
- Experience within the travel, leisure or tour operations industry; experience supporting touring or escorted tour products is desirable.
- Good understanding of the travel industry and the B2B tour operating environment.
- Good geographical knowledge and an interest in touring destinations, itineraries and customer propositions.
- Familiarity with product loading, pricing, merchandising, net airfares, contracts or reservations systems is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, data accuracy and copy accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of numeracy with good analytical and commercial awareness.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work at pace and meet tight deadlines.
- Positive, proactive and customer-focused approach.
- Able to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivated, resilient and committed to achieving results.Competent in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel and Word; experience of GDS and in-house reservation or product systems is desirable.
- Willingness to travel in the UK or overseas where required to support the role.
