Do you light up at the thought of a wagging tail in reception, and take real pride in making a worried pet owner feel instantly at ease? At DNA Vetcare, we believe that exceptional care starts the moment someone walks through the door - and we're looking for a very special person to be part of that experience at our multi-award-winning, high-end 24-hour hospital in Streatham Hill (day shifts only). This isn't a job for 'just a receptionist'. We're looking for a genuine customer service enthusiast - someone who is as passionate about people as they are besotted with animals, who wants every client to feel like theirs is the most important pet in the world, and who wants to bring our values of Caring, Professional and Service to life every single day.

About the Role

You'll be the warm, familiar face and voice of the practice - often the very first, and most reassuring, part of a client's visit. Whether it's a nervous new puppy owner, someone losing their best friend, or a regular popping in for medication, your ability to build trust and make people feel genuinely looked after is what sets us apart. Your day might include:

  • Giving every client and their pet a five-star, heartfelt welcome
  • Running a busy reception desk with warmth, composure and professionalism
  • Booking and managing appointments using RX Works
  • Supporting clients with queries, appointments and medication collections
  • Answering emails and enquiries, and keeping on top of our Facebook messages
  • Creating engaging content for our social media channels
  • Handling payments and finance applications with accuracy and sensitivity
  • Processing and logging insurance claims
  • Talking clients through our healthcare plans with genuine care and confidence
  • Working closely with our Vets and Nursing team for a seamless client journey
  • Keeping on top of admin, including scanning records and correspondence

About You

You're confident, warm and a natural relationship-builder. You understand that behind every appointment is a worried pet parent, and you know just how much empathy and reassurance can mean. You'll bring:

  • Proven experience in a demanding, client-facing role (veterinary or hospitality experience a real plus)
  • A natural gift for conversation that puts people instantly at ease
  • A calm, caring and impeccably professional phone manner
  • A genuine 'nothing is too much trouble' attitude and a love of going above and beyond
  • Excellent organisation and the ability to stay composed in a fast-paced environment
  • A true, unmistakable love of animals — you're pet-obsessed, through and through
  • A smart, polished presentation that reflects the standards of a premium private practice

Working Pattern

What We Offer

  • A warm, supportive and genuinely professional team
  • The chance to work in a respected, high-quality private practice
  • Clear career progression pathways
  • Achievement-based milestones and rewards — the more you grow and contribute, the more you're recognised
