About The Role

DNA Vetcare Group | Up to £46,500 per annum

Are you a dedicated, quick-thinking and highly organised manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment? Due to continued growth across our clinics, we're recruiting an Area Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running and long-term performance of our independent veterinary surgeries across the West London region. Our surgery teams - including certificate-holding vets, high-calibre RVNs and customer service ambassadors - need an Area Manager who can lead with clarity, drive operational efficiency, and ensure every pet in our care receives the very best treatment.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Line managing clinic teams across the area, providing clear direction, coaching and support
  • Owning the P&L for your practices, with accountability for sustainable growth and cost control
  • Identifying and implementing operational efficiencies — from diary management to patient flow — to keep practices running smoothly
  • Ensuring effective use of clinicians across the area to reduce reliance on locums
  • Working with HR to plan resourcing and rotas 6–12 months ahead
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding and induction of new colleagues
  • Leading regular review meetings to support your team's growth and development
  • Managing absence, including return-to-work interviews and cover planning
  • Driving service standards through client feedback, Google Reviews and NPS scoring
  • Identifying marketing opportunities to support client growth and retention, including social media aligned to brand guidelines
  • Ensuring compliance with clinical, H&S, and data protection protocols, and that certificates and inspections are up to date
  • Keeping stock levels appropriate and aligned to the preferred medications list, and client debt within target

What We're Looking For:

You’ll have management experience getting the best from veterinary support teams, ideally within a similar Area or Practice Manager role. You’ll be comfortable owning a P&L, confident coaching and developing people, and equally happy rolling up your sleeves to solve problems on the ground. A strong customer service focus and the ability to motivate a team will set you apart. You’ll have the support of a team of highly experienced industry Directors, helping ensure your days are productive and rewarding. We’re an independent and growing group of passionate veterinary professionals who respect each other and the pets we treat.

This is a full-time position requiring on-site presence five days a week, with some flexibility around hours to support pet care.

About Us:

At DNA Vetcare, we don’t just offer jobs—we offer careers with heart, purpose, and endless possibilities. As an independent, award-winning veterinary group, we are redefining pet care across the UK. Our ethos is simple yet powerful: Caring, Professional, Service. Our mission? To provide the highest standards of veterinary care while nurturing and empowering our teams. Whether your passion lies in clinical excellence, leadership, or personal growth, we create opportunities tailored to your ambitions. We are expanding our exceptional team—and we’re looking for the best. If you thrive in a dynamic, well-equipped, and incredibly supportive environment, where no two days are the same and the caseload is as diverse as your interests, then this is the place for you. Whether your expertise lies in soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, internal medicine, ultrasound, ophthalmology, critical care, dermatology, exotics, or customer service, we actively encourage further qualifications and provide the challenging caseloads to support your growth. Founded in 2006, our surgeries remain proudly independent, and are still led by our two founders who are experienced and passionate veterinary surgeons with years of hands‑on expertise. We understand what it takes to create a fulfilling, rewarding, and inspiring career in veterinary medicine.

If you are passionate about pets and progression, your journey starts here. Take the next step and join a team that truly invests in you.
