We are looking for a class 2 driver for our client based in Tameside working Monday to Friday 8am starts, delivering and collecting freight on curtain side truck. This is an ongoing role.
PAYE or LTD available:
- PAYE £15 Per hour or £16.50 with holiday pay
- LTD £18.50
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving: Operate a Class 2 vehicle to deliver goods to customer locations, following assigned routes and schedules.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure the vehicle is in good working condition, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Loading and Unloading: Assist with the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are secured and transported safely.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and any other required paperwork.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods on time, handling customer inquiries, and ensuring products are delivered in a professional manner.
- Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and health and safety regulations to ensure a safe driving environment.
- Communication: Stay in regular communication with the logistics team and supervisors to ensure timely delivery and to resolve any issues that may arise during transport.
Qualifications:
- Valid Class 2 Driver's License (essential)
- Proven Experience: Minimum of 1 year of driving experience with no more than 6 points for minor endorsements
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, as required for loading and unloading.
- Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Good Communication Skills: Ability to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
- Dependability: Punctual, reliable, and able to manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
