We're recruiting on behalf of a leading experiential agency seeking a Technical Production Director to oversee and evolve their technical production capability. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced technical production professional looking to shape the future of a rapidly growing business.
The Role
- You’ll lead the agency’s technical production function, driving excellence across live events, exhibitions, activations and immersive experiences.
- Working alongside senior leadership, you’ll oversee technical strategy, delivery standards, team development and supplier partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical production strategy and technical standards across the business
- Oversee the delivery of complex live events, exhibitions and experiential projects
- Act as the senior technical authority across AV, lighting, sound, staging, LED and scenic production
- Review technical designs, specifications, drawings and production plans
- Lead and develop the in‑house technical production team
- Manage supplier relationships, technical budgets and freelance resources
- Support pitches, proposals and client presentations
- Drive innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with health & safety and technical governance standards
Requirements
- Extensive technical production experience within events, experiential or exhibition environments
- Proven experience leading large‑scale, high‑budget productions
- Strong expertise across AV, lighting, sound, staging, rigging, LED and scenic delivery
- Previous experience managing technical production teams
- Strong commercial and financial management skills
- Experience managing multi‑million‑pound project budgets
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Vectorworks or similar technical design software
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
- Willingness to travel internationally as required
