We are one of the UK’s largest independent payment providers, supporting over 60,000 merchants and processing more than £1.2 billion in transactions each month. Our mission is to simplify and enhance the way businesses accept payments through innovative and reliable solutions.
This is a field based, door to door sales role focused on generating new business through face‑to‑face cold calling. As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for visiting businesses within your territory, introducing DNA Payments and creating new sales opportunities. This will consist of both cold calling to introduce yourself and DNA Payments and also attending appointments generated for you by our Business Development Executives. This role requires resilience, confidence, and a highly driven mindset, as success comes from consistent activity and the ability to handle objections.
Key Responsibilities- Attend appointments from our call centre team – an average of 1.5 per working day
- B2B cold calling (45+ door knocks daily depending on your call centre appointments)
- Engage directly with business owners and decision makers
- Identify customer needs and generate qualified sales opportunities
- Book appointments and close deals
- Build rapport quickly and maintain professional relationships with merchants
- Accurately record all activity within Salesforce CRM
- Achieve a minimum of 30% conversion of call centre appointments after 3 months
- Process a minimum 0.4 self‑generated sales a day (8 per average working month) after 3 months
- Generate consistent new business opportunities through face‑to‑face engagement
- Book a minimum of 2 appointments per working day with decision makers in the field
- Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets
- Maintain a strong pipeline of prospective customers
- Deliver a professional and engaging experience at every interaction
- Continuously improve product knowledge and sales techniques
- Highly self motivated with the ability to work independently in the field
- Resilient and persistent in a high rejection environment
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
