Overview
IntraFish is a leading global news organization dedicated to the business of seafood. Our team of journalists provides the breaking news, insight and analysis demanded by our readership around the world – unrivalled business intelligence in an ever-changing market.
We are searching for a standout digital journalist to take responsibility for editing and enhancing articles built on a solid foundation of original reporting, as well as producing their own articles.
Your strategic role
In addition to the editing support, this person will report and write about the companies and personalities that shape the exciting world of seafood – from Norwegian salmon farmers and hard-fought Arctic cod quotas to the €35 billion EU fish processing sector and the well-known supermarkets that sell their products. There is a whole world to explore among the start-ups driving tech innovation throughout the supply chain. You will report directly into the Publisher for Intrafish.com.
Your day-to-day
- Apply strong news judgement and reader metrics to optimise coverage
- Working with reporters to craft reliably sourced stories that are properly contextualised.
- Publishing articles on our Intrafish.com website and Intrafish.com News app
- Support journalists with editing breaking news and other digital news
- Write articles for our digital platforms and special editions
- Research and write a full range of business news, insight and commentary stories.
- Report with accuracy, to deadline and to appropriate length and style.
Your background
- Excellent news judgement and deep understanding of business issues to generate a strong file for our subscribers.
- A proven track record of generating compelling journalism in a fast-moving news environment
- Editing experience and background in journalism
- Digital journalism skills and experience
- Good communication skills
- Energetic and self driven
- Ability to move between fast-moving breaking news and long-form features and interviews.
- A keen eye for detail, grammar, and accuracy.
- Advanced digital skills and understanding of how to use digital tools to enhance reader experience and loyalty.
- Ability to work fast and accurately under pressure.
- Versatility and adaptability.
