We’re looking for a dedicated Technician Instructor (Wood Machinist) to join our Construction team, providing high‑quality technical support and hands‑on instruction within our specialist workshops. In this role, you will play a key part in creating a safe, engaging and industry‑standard learning environment. You will support teaching staff, demonstrate practical techniques, prepare materials, maintain equipment, and help ensure our learners gain the knowledge and confidence they need to succeed. Essential Criteria
- Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject.
- Recent experience working within the Construction industry.
- Ability to maintain and prepare tools, equipment and workshop resources.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to support both staff and learners.
- Willingness and ability to lift and move materials and equipment safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Support curriculum staff with the supervision of learners in workshops and practical teaching areas.
- Prepare and machine rough sawn timber and operate a range of woodworking machinery (e.g., rip saw, crosscut saw, surface planer).
- Demonstrate safe and effective practical techniques to individuals and groups.
- Carry out routine and planned maintenance, stocktaking, safety inspections, and related administrative tasks.
- Contribute to curriculum development, team meetings, quality assurance processes, and departmental events such as open evenings.
