We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Policing Lecturer to join our Sport and Uniformed Services team. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and develop learners who are aspiring to careers within the policing and wider public services sector.
You will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment, ensuring students are supported, challenged and motivated to achieve their full potential. Working closely with colleagues and stakeholders, you will contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment where learners are at the heart of everything we do.
Actual Salary: £17,845.25 - £22,587.68 per annum
Working Pattern: Tuesday (8:30am - 5:00 pm) / Wednesday (Half day) / Thursday (8:30am - 5:00 pm)
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across policing programmes
- Support, monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions
- Contribute to curriculum development, including creating learning resources and improving programmes
- Manage student behaviour and promote a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment
- Undertake pastoral responsibilities, acting as a tutor and supporting student wellbeing and safeguarding
- Participate in recruitment, marketing activities and student interviews
- Maintain accurate records, including assessment, attendance and progress tracking
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners to enhance the student experience
- Contribute to quality assurance processes and continuous improvement across the curriculum area
Essential Criteria
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in Policing, Public Services or a related field
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one) alongside industry experience
- Minimum Level 2 English and Maths
- Significant industry experience within policing or a related sector
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills with the ability to motivate learners
