We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will provide efficient, responsive, and cyclical maintenance services across all DN Colleges Group Estate sites. Your responsibilities will include mechanical and electrical services, plumbing, cooling, and heating installations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our facilities, contributing to a safe and inclusive environment for all.

What We're Looking For

  • Served an apprenticeship in Electrical maintenance or obtained an equivalent NVQ/C&G level 3.
  • Wiring Regulations 18th edition certification.
  • Electrical repairs and maintenance experience in large public sector or commercial properties, including lighting installation.
  • Knowledge of works within the field of building maintenance and understanding of electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety issues in connection with the Construction Industry, following risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
  • Ability to record detailed and accurate repairs information relating to repairs, inspections, and testing.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement, including diagnostic and fault-finding work.
  • Maintain and update current asset registers.
  • Perform maintenance tasks including statutory, mandatory, planned preventative, and reactive maintenance.
  • Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings, and specifications as appropriate.
  • Assist in the setting out of new work and identify materials for ordering and collection.
  • Use all relevant hand and power tools, measuring instruments, and equipment within safety guidelines.
  • Plan and carry out maintenance work on systems, plant, equipment, and buildings.
  • Undertake inspections for pre-installations and investigate services.
  • Carry out site-based surveys and report all defects to the appropriate manager.
  • Work in hazardous areas, confined spaces, and on contaminated equipment using appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Utilise relevant software systems including the use of PDAs, helpdesk, BMS, work permit system, and the ordering system.
  • Assist with emergency work as and when requested, including out of normal working hours.
