Electrical Technician - Teesside
My client is a bulk liquid storage provider operating terminals strategically placed across the UK. They currently require a mechanical technician to be based at their site multiple sites across Teesside on a permanent basis.
Role:
- Day to day management of ongoing maintenance tasks completed by E&I contractors.
- Perform electrical isolations and complete isolation certificates in accordance with isolation, lockout & tagout policy, procedures & guidance.
- Preparation and review of method statements and risk assessments to ensure compliance with safe system of work.
- Maintaining a stock of critical electrical equipment and assisting in the assessment process.
- Providing electrical engineering support and fault finding to ensure operational performance of plant is optimised.
- Part of On-Call rota providing emergency engineering support to plant.
Main Duties:
- Replacing / upgrading lighting fittings, motors & switches.
- Hazardous area equipment remedial work & inspections.
- Minor panel modifications.
- MCC inspections, IR testing & CP Joints.
- Earthing, lightning protection and bonding testing and inspections.
- RCD testing & electric heat tracing testing.
- LV fixed wiring DB inspection.
- Cause and Effect testing.
- Motor inspections/testing & rotation checks.
- Electric fire pump testing.
- Lighting inspections.
- Generators & UPS testing.
Requirements:
- 5+ Years experience working within a petrochemical / chemical industry.
- BTEC/NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or time served apprenticeship.
- COMPEX 01, 02, 03, 04 certified.
- BS7671 (18th Edition)
- Safety instrumented system awareness.
- Working at heights.
- HV awareness (desirable)
- IPAF 3A & 3B (desirable)
- PASMA mobile tower erection (desirable)
- Asbestos Awareness (desirable)
Salary:
Β£48,205 per annum.
