Job Description
MEP Quantity Surveyor (Heat Consultancy) – Central London / Hybrid\\nMy client is a heat network consultancy playing a leading role in the decarbonisation of heat in the UK.\\nFounded in 2015, they have rapidly established itself as the leading experts on how to specify, design, deliver and operate low temperature heat networks in the UK.\\nThey currently require a Quantity Surveyor to join the business permanently in Central London with Hybrid / WFH options available.\\nRole:\\n * You will be responsible for the establishing a range of district heating projects from conception through to completion. You will manage the project costs and support the design and project delivery as well as the wider business, with advice and support with cost planning, procurement, tender support and payment applications/final accounts.\\n * The role will require a mix of commercial, cost and strong stakeholder management.\\n * You will be supporting the project delivery and engineering teams working on a range of live heat network construction projects of the following typical scope:\\n * Plant room and network end of life equipment replacements.\\n * Full plant room and network retrofits to improve performance (e.g. Heat network efficiency scheme funded projects).\\n * Heat pump retrofits to decarbonise existing buildings (e.g.
PSDS project delivery management).\\n * HIU and heat meter upgrade/replacement works.\\n * District heating project installations, including energy centres, buried networks and substation plant rooms.\\nRequirements:\\n * MEP background with 3 years surveying or estimating experience – would look at ex-trade candidates with less commercial experience.\\n * Be capable of conducting take off's and querying design.\\n * Understand and be able to generate and apply 1st principle cost estimates.\\n * Be capable of interrogating supply chain (contractors and suppliers / manufacturers)\\n * Be capable of developing and maintaining supply chain partners (contractors and suppliers / manufacturers)\\n * Commercial and contract management.\\n * Pre-construction including supporting clients and extracting PCI information.\\n * Preparation of ITT (Invitation To Tender) including having a working understanding of content being collated.\\n * Ability to assess tender returns.\\n * Have experience in managing JCT, and ideally NEC4 contracts (both with client and supply chain)\\n * Working knowledge of project lifecycle and ability to administer typical estimating and QS functions.\\n * Contribute to team success by supporting design, project management and finance functions.\\n * Have exposure to the energy industry (district heating / cooling)\\n * Have exposure to both residential and commercial projects.\\n * Be happy for occasional and national travel (UK sites and London office)\\n * Accommodation booking platform.\\n * Reimburse mileage / travel tickets (fortnightly)\\nSalary/Package:\\n * £65k-£75k per annum DOE.\\n * Annual discretionary bonus.\\n * 5% pension contributions.\\n * 25 days annual leave + public holidays.\\nIf you would like to be considered please send an up to date CV and references to DMW Recruitment.\\nDMW Recruitment provides staffing solutions across the UK and internationally.
