DMW Recruitment require 4 Generator Winders to join a power-plant in Scotland. The contract will last 3 months.
Role:
- Perform complete re-winding of stators and repairs to generator rotors.
- Strip, clean and rebuild generators, including removing/installing retaining rings, end bells, fans and coils.
- Perform precise brazing of copper winding connectors using torches, carbon or induction heating.
- Conduct electrical testing and fault-finding on windings.
- Read and interpret winding diagrams, engineering drawings and technical procedures.
- Adhere to safety procedures, particularly when working with large electrical equipment.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy generator winding or repair.
- Recognised apprenticeship or trade qualifications.
- Extensive knowledge of brazing and ability to use lifting gear and electrical testing tools.
- Ability to work in tight spaces & lift heavy equipment.
Rate: £45.00 per hour CIS or LTD - Travel & Accommodation provided.
Location: Scotland (2 hours North of Glasgow)
