My client is a bulk liquid storage provider operating terminals strategically placed across the UK. They currently require a mechanical technician to be based at their site(s) across Teesside on a permanent basis.
Role:
- To ensure that terminal maintenance is managed safely and efficiently.
- Competent, safe and accurate completion of all allocated tasks is required to maintain the quality performance of the company.
- Provide technical support, leadership and guidance to projects, operations and maintenance. Comply with the UK policy and procedures.
- Repairs to rotating equipment, e.g. mechanical seals, packed gland replacements, bearing replacements and oil changes.
- Recommend and ensure actions on incident reports are recorded on the terminals Eventis system. Monitor and report on consumable stock levels.
- Terminal champions for all flanged connections ensuring compliance with flanged connection procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures.
- Execute safety critical equipment routines ensuring correct installation, checks and precautions are taken.
- Making and breaking joints, replacement of in line equipment and piping e.g. filters, pressure sustaining valves, pressure vacuum valves / emergency vent replacements on tanks.
- Routine 3 monthly inspection of tanks including pressure vacuum valves and emergency vents.
- Ensure that all contractors working on the site comply with site rules and regulations.
- Fire pump testing.
- Boxing and unboxing of tanks for inspection, including all necessary mechanical isolations as directed.
- Maintenance of cranes and winches.
- Slinging, rigging and lifting.
- Carry out mechanical hazardous area inspections.
- Valve preventative maintenance/overhaul and loading arm maintenance.
- Assistance in hose testing/pressure testing.
- Assistance in inspection and certification of lifting equipment.
- Flame/spark arrestor inspections.
Requirements:
- NVQ Engineering maintenance (Level 3) or be a time served mechanical technician.
- 5+ years experience on chemical manufacturing or storage plant.
- ECITB MJI10 hand torque bolted connection techniques.
- ECITB MJI19 hydraulic torque bolted connection techniques.
- Ability to read process and Instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Manual Handling.
- Asbestos Awareness.
Salary: Up to 45k per annum DOE
