We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Building Services) to join our growing engineering team. You will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical building services systems across a variety of projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, efficient, and compliant solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and passionate about sustainable building design.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mechanical building services systems including HVAC, domestic water services, drainage, and low-carbon technologies
- Produce mechanical calculations, specifications, schematics, and technical reports
- Prepare and review drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Coordinate designs with electrical, architectural, and structural teams
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements
- Support projects from concept design through to construction and handover
- Attend design meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Experience in mechanical design within the building services sector
- Good understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit (MEP experience desirable)
- Experience carrying out thermal, ventilation, and plant sizing calculations
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
- A proactive approach with attention to detail and problem-solving skills
