We are seeking an experienced Project Manager based in the UK to lead the delivery of biogas upgrading and gas-to-grid projects. The role requires a strong understanding of the UK gas network, including SGN and other GDNs, and the ability to manage complex, regulated infrastructure projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover.

The Project Manager will be responsible for programme delivery, cost control, stakeholder management, and compliance, acting as the central point of coordination between internal engineering teams, subcontractors, network operators, and clients.

Key Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in biogas upgrading, gas-to-grid, or energy/process plant projects, with a strong understanding of the UK gas network and regulatory environment.
  • Experience managing EPC or EPCM contracts across multiple simultaneous projects, with strong programme management and organisational skills.
  • Confident communicator with clients, regulators, and technical teams; UK-based with willingness to travel to sites.
  • Desirable: experience with SGN/GDN frameworks, CO2 storage and logistics, anaerobic digestion plants, or an engineering background in mechanical, process, or electrical disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver biogas upgrading projects from contract to handover, on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Oversee technical systems including pre-treatment, biogas upgrading, CO2 handling, compression, and grid injection.
  • Manage UK GDN interfaces (SGN, Cadent, NGN, WWU) and ensure compliance with GS(M)R, IGEM, G17, CDM, and HAZOP/HAZID requirements.
  • Manage EPC contracts, budgets, change management, and cost forecasting.
  • Serve as primary client contact and coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Champion health & safety, ensure RAMS and permits are in place, and support FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field; PRINCE2, APM, PMP, SMSTS, or NEBOSH qualifications are desirable but not essential.
  • Structured and methodical, with strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commercially aware with solid leadership and decision-making capability.
  • Comfortable operating in high-pressure project environments.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused.
