An established commercial vehicle operation in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to oversee workshop activity and lead a team of engineers. This is a key role within the engineering department, offering responsibility, stability, and a competitive salary for the right candidate.
The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring all commercial vehicle maintenance and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with DVSA and operator licence requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and support a team of commercial vehicle engineers and technicians
- Ensure all inspections, servicing, and repairs meet required standards
- Manage planned preventative maintenance schedules and defect rectification
- Provide hands-on technical support and fault diagnosis when required
- Ensure compliance with DVSA regulations, health & safety, and company procedures
- Monitor workshop performance, productivity, and vehicle availability
- Liaise with management regarding fleet condition and engineering performance
- Proven experience working with commercial vehicles (HGV/LCV/PSV)
- Previous supervisory experience or a senior engineer ready to step up
- Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of DVSA standards and vehicle compliance
- Good leadership and communication skills
- Β£47,000 - Β£49,000 per annum
- 28 days holiday + bank holidays and the option to purchase an additional 5 days tax free
