MailOnline has an incredible opportunity for a Social Graphic Designer to join its industry-leading team in London. MailOnline is the biggest news publisher on social media with more than 100 million followers across its wide-ranging and diverse stable of accounts. We are looking for an outstanding candidate to produce creative and innovative digital assets for our channels.
Main Responsibilities
- Produce high-quality and engaging designs, logos, illustrations, promotions and videos.
- Always work to a high standard, both creatively and with good rigour and attention to detail.
- Quickly understand and respond to briefs.
- Effectively communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale both verbally and visually.
- Be able to rationalise your solutions to the wider project team, and effectively communicate conceptual ideas.
- Keep abreast of trends in the news industry, tech industries and the UX and design community and recognise opportunities to exploit new technologies and tools as they emerge.
Experience and Skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail.
- A solid knowledge of the latest versions of applicable programs and workflow: Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
- You know all about typography, grid systems, layout, colour theory and interaction principles, and why they are important.
- A passion for design and a desire to always come up with the best solution the situation allows.
- Self-motivated, organized, punctual and accountable.
- Well-developed communication skills including ability to articulate creative concepts and rationale to other team members and internal clients.
- A broad understanding of UX practices.
- Be able to grasp the objectives of the business and use those as a basis for idea generation.
