About the role

The Daily Mail is seeking a visionary, creative Head of News Video to put video at the heart of the Daily Mail newsroom and help transform news video content across dailymail.co.uk and our app. You will lead the development of compelling daily news packages, original series such as Daily Mail Voices, and premium exclusive interviews and features. Central to the role is nurturing the video team’s skills in original news gathering and delivering innovative storytelling.

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire production crews, journalists and editors to deliver high-quality daily news videos.
  • Direct shoots and edits, ensuring standout visual storytelling and editorial excellence.
  • Drive the creation of original news video packages, working closely with the newsroom and newsdesk.
  • Develop Daily Mail style guide and execute original series, exclusives and premium features.
  • Nurture talent within the team, developing their creative and technical skills.
  • Build strong relationships across editorial teams to source unique stories.
  • Analyse performance data to refine content strategy and maximise audience engagement.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in news gathering and video production.
  • Proven track record in producing shoots, edits and developing original news packages.
  • Creative background with expertise in innovative, premium news content.
  • Strong organisational and mentoring skills to develop and grow the video team.
