We are seeking an AI Engineer to drive AI innovation across our organisation. This role will be instrumental in exploring and implementing AI solutions (prompt engineering, predictive modelling, etc.) and AI agent builders to enhance editorial workflows, commercial operations, and product development. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the ideal candidate will bridge the gap between emerging AI capabilities and practical applications, ensuring that AI-driven solutions align with business objectives, journalistic integrity, and audience needs.
Main Responsibilities
- AI Solutions Development: Design, prototype, and deploy AI-driven tools that enhance newsroom efficiency, commercial operations, and digital product innovation.
- Prompt Engineering: Test and implement generative AI applications to support operational efficiency, audience engagement, content summaries and more.
- Building AI Agents: Develop and test AI-powered automation tools that streamline repetitive tasks and enhance decision-making processes with agentic workflows.
- Collaboration & Integration: Work closely with editorial, video, product, commercial, and technology teams to identify AI opportunities and seamlessly integrate solutions into existing workflows.
- Test & Learn Culture: Foster a culture of experimentation, rapid prototyping, and iterative improvement to evaluate the effectiveness of AI solutions.
- Ethical AI & Governance: Ensure AI applications align with journalistic and ethical guidelines, maintaining editorial integrity and transparency.

Person Specification
- Experience in AI/ML engineering, AI architecture, or data science roles, with a focus on real-world AI applications.
- Understanding of generative AI, LLMs, NLP, and machine learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.).
- Experience working with cloud AI services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI model deployment.
- Proficiency in Python, APIs, and AI-driven automation tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in media, publishing, or digital product environments is highly desirable.
