Metro brings news, sport, entertainment, food/drink and gaming content to a fast-growing global audience and we’re looking for two Formats Producers to join our London team and bring new, high-quality, original content to life and keep audiences engaged and returning for more online. The Metro team prides itself on its positive and inclusive culture, which is something you will need to play an active part in cultivating and maintaining.
Role Responsibilities
- Work closely with Commercial Video Lead to build formats that can become commercially viable opportunities.
- Liaise with wider commercial team on creative ideas and execution of commercial video projects across web and social.
- Ideating and owning weekly formats that keeps audiences engaged and returning for more online.
- Monitor trends and relay story ideas confidently to the team and the wider newsroom.
- Script, present, edit and deliver daily and weekly short-form video content across social channels with support from seniors.
- Bring new, high-quality, original content to life - from ideation to delivery.
- High proficiency in Adobe software, particularly Premiere Pro.
- Voice over, present and interview on camera - we want to see your personality at the forefront of everything you produce.
- Film high quality, original content remotely and in-person, including with contributors and talent.
- Have a creative flare with experience using data and intelligence to drive insight across social media platforms.
- Be an effective communicator and team player who will collaborate with producers, journalists and editors to create compelling work.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic, fast-paced 24/7 news environment with the flexibility to work unsociable hours as and when required.
- Able to travel for shoots and client meetings when/if required.
- Owning a driving licence is a bonus.
Experience
- Experience working with brands and agencies, including ideation and creating of compelling video-first content for them.
- Experience in short-form social video preferred.
- Experience working within a news/media environment at a local or national level.
- Knowledge of social media software and analytical tools.
- Experience in scripting, producing, editing and delivering video content.
- Understanding of the UK Editors’ Code of Practice, media and copyright law.
