Job Introduction
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join our team as a Data Paralegal / Compliance Specialist. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring dmg::media adheres to data protection regulations and legal requirements. You will work closely with legal teams, technology teams, and stakeholders across the company to maintain compliance with data privacy laws and internal policies.
Main Responsibilities
- Conducting regular reviews to assess data handling procedures and compliance with relevant laws (e.g., GDPR and PECR).
- Assist teams to consider new and emerging technologies, and related privacy matters.
- Responding to data subject access requests and inquiries related to data privacy.
- Drafting and reviewing data protection agreements, privacy policies, and other documents related to data management.
- Collaborating with legal counsel to interpret regulatory requirements and provide guidance on data privacy issues.
- Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of data protection policies and procedures.
- Monitoring changes in data protection legislation and advising on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
- Developing and delivering training sessions to employees on data protection best practices and compliance requirements.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in a compliance or legal role, preferably in data protection or privacy.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations such as GDPR, and others relevant to the industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret legal documents and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Certification in data protection (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM) is a plus.
