Job Introduction
As Head of Talent, you will play a fundamental role in an exciting new proposition in the creator economy: a publisher-backed talent network with the editorial credibility, brand relationships and cross-platform infrastructure of DMG Media sitting behind it. This role will shape our creator proposition, manage our growing roster of internal talent and build our external creator network.
Main Responsibilities
- Building the division
- Establish DMG New Media’s creator management agency - onboard our existing creators and set up the operational model of a leading creator management business.
- Evaluate and help define the creator strategy - assess the existing pool of internal creators to identify immediate opportunities and significant future potential.
- Talent management & development
- Manage and develop our internal creators - build content strategies with each creator across their portfolio and develop their personal branding strategy.
- Lead on signing the right external creators - identify talent who fit our creator proposition and bring them into the network, both for active management and activation in wider commercial campaigns.
- Commercial & brand partnerships
- Drive revenue from day one - work with our sales team to capture and create commercial opportunities with creators, defining how we bring this opportunity to market alongside our ecosystem of social products.
- Build long-term creator brand partnerships - leverage your existing network to secure commercial deals for our creators, leading on negotiation and relationship building to allow us to access influencer media budgets.
Person Specification
- 6-9 years of experience in talent management, creator representation or influencer marketing, with a meaningful portion of that at a senior level.
- Experience managing high-profile, high-earning talent, with a strong track record of negotiating significant commercial deals.
- An established network across brands, agencies, media companies and creators.
- Deep knowledge of the creator economy with a finger on the pulse of where the space is heading and how to position talent ahead of that curve.
- Understanding of what a publisher-backed network can offer that a standalone agency can't and the ability to sell that difference.
- Exceptional communication skills - with talent, with brands and with internal stakeholders.
