The Daily Mail is looking for an experienced, highly motivated Assistant Visual Journalism Editor to join our award-winning newsroom in London. As part of our global visual journalism department, you will be responsible for bringing the biggest stories of the day to life.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Content creation: Produce a series of visual-led stories each week, tackling all the big daily talking points.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the Mail's unrivalled team of writers to bring your ideas to life.
  • Forward-planning: Pull together bigger set pieces that coincide with major news events.
  • Conference: Attend news and weekend conference, taking inspiration for future projects and contributing ideas.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Previous journalism experience, ideally 5+ years in a national newsroom.
  • Be self-motivated, brimming with innovative ideas and passionate for news.
  • Excellent writing skills, ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable working as part of a global team and collaborating at speed.
  • Previous experience of Shorthand, or similar software, is preferential.
