Overview

We are seeking a highly organised, enthusiastic and driven Assistant News Editor to join the Daily Mail website\’s Global news desk. The Global desk is responsible for producing exclusive stories. As Assistant News Editor, you will play a central role in bringing that content to life.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with reporters and freelance contributors
  • Manage journalists and provide them with assistance to produce the biggest and the best news stories
  • Have a can do attitude and work well as part of a team
  • Keep on top of the news agenda and spot potential new lines
  • Edit copy at speed and to the highest standard
  • Ensure stories are produced in accordance with applicable laws and the Editors\’ Code
  • Deputise for the Executive Editor (Global) when necessary

Location and schedule

This role is Monday to Friday and is based in our offices in Kensington, London. A high level of flexibility is required.
