Role Purpose: Assisting the Commercial Finance teams with the business partnering and financial analysis to improve business efficiency and commercial decision making for the Energy Portfolio (Europe, Asia, Africa). Assisting the Management Finance team with month end and financial accounting ensuring that processes are followed to provide and maintain a strong financial management and control environment for the Energy portfolio (Europe, Asia, Africa).
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Provide support for the Management Finance team with month end processes (bank reconciliations);
- Work with Management Finance team to assist with preparation of monthly management accounts (raising PO, VAT returns etc) and balance sheet packs;
- Keep Event trackers reconciled and up to date with actual spend from Financial force on a regular basis;
- Assisting with the reporting of weekly sales reports when required;
- Assist the commercial Finance teams where required on the budgeting and forecasting process for events across the Energy portfolio;
- Provide quality analysis and reporting insights where required;
- Ensuring a strong financial control environment is maintained;
- Carry out any reasonable project work / ad hoc task as requested;
- Attend training and development as required.
Key Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:
- Technical / Functional: University student studying accountancy related degree; Interest in working in a finance role; Confidence to develop and cultivate relationships that leads to open and collaborative communication; Hands on approach; Willing to accept responsibility; Project management skills; Able to multi-task and manage changing workloads and priorities; Able to adapt to changing circumstances re-setting priorities as necessary; Intermediate Excel skills.
