As the midweight graphic designer, your responsibilities will include conceptualising, developing, and executing innovative and visually appealing designs for a variety of marketing materials to support our portfolio of UK events. These materials will span print collateral, digital assets, social media graphics, web banners, infographics, and presentations.
Your input will also contribute to the development of effective creative strategies, enhancing user experiences and achieving marketing objectives. You will liaise with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and translate ideas into compelling design work. Ensuring consistency in the use of our visual identity and adherence to brand guidelines across all design deliverables will be a key aspect of your role, maintaining a cohesive brand style.
You will manage multiple design projects concurrently, adhering to timelines, milestones, and priorities to meet project deadlines effectively. With guidance from the Head of Design, you will receive feedback from stakeholders and make necessary revisions to designs, ensuring a high level of quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for organising and maintaining digital assets, including images, fonts, and design files, making sure they are easily accessible and appropriately archived.
- Creation of engaging, high-quality visual content for a variety of marketing materials (print collateral, digital assets, social media graphics, web banners, infographics, and presentations) to support our portfolio of UK events.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, help to prioritise tasks within the design team, work under pressure and manage your own workload as well as supporting with the tasks and workload of the wider design team, adapting to needs and shifting priorities as they arise.
- Passionate about design and full of bright ideas, awareness of current design trends in the energy/events industry.
- Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; ability to navigate feedback and be proactive in any task set.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team as well as with stakeholders, key decision-makers and external suppliers/freelancers.
- Good attention to detail, executing any task to the highest of standards.
- Comfortable working across print and digital, with an enthusiasm and drive to learn new skills.
- Ability to organise and maintain digital assets, including images, fonts, and design files, making sure they are easily accessible and appropriately archived.
- There will on occasion be adhoc requirements for presence and support at events.
Qualifications, Experience, & Skills
- An excellent knowledge of Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat).
- Excellent knowledge of Canva.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft suite, project management platforms such as Monday and Jira and communication platforms such as Teams, Zoom and Slack.
- BA in graphic design or new media or equivalent.
- A strong design portfolio that spans across typography & layout design.
- A minimum of 5 years experience (either in house or agency) using graphic design software to produce high quality graphic content for website and social media.
- Excellent organisational, planning and creative design skills; Experience working in the events industry is a bonus.
