About The Role
Mail Metro Media is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Executive, Commerce to join our commerce team. This role requires an understanding of digital publishing, affiliate marketing, and performance-based advertising models, such as CPA and CPC. You will play a key role in driving revenue growth by attracting and onboarding brands that align with MailOnline & Metro.co.uk vibrant and diverse audience.
Main Responsibilities
Sales strategy and outreach

  • Proactively identify and engage new brand partners, focusing on those whose offerings resonate with our audiences
  • Build compelling sales pitches to showcase the value of being featured acoss our publications and how to leverage our data and audience insights.
  • Develop and execute strategies to secure long-term partnerships with brands, ensuring alignment with performance-based goals.

Affiliate marketing expertise

  • Manage and optimise affiliate relationships to drive revenue through CPA and CPC models.
  • Monitor and analyse campaign performance, providing actionable insights to enhance ROI for affiliate partners.

Collaboration with editorial and insights

  • Work closely with the commerce editorial team to ensure seamless integration and execution of brand partnerships
  • Collaborate with data analytics and insight teams to highlight our audience reach, engagement, and purchasing behaviour.

Market analysis and trends

  • Stay up-to-date on digital publishing trends and the evolving affiliate marketing landscape.
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and introduce new monetisation strategies that align with industry best practices.
  • Provide competitor analysis and market intelligence to inform Metro’s commercial strategies.

Person Specification

  • Self-motivated and target-driven, with a passion for achieving and exceeding goals.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset, adept at using data to drive decision-making and optimise performance.
  • Understanding of the UK digital media landscape and e-commerce opportunities across websites and social media platforms.
  • Experience in affiliate sales, publishing, or digital advertising, with a focus on CPA and CPC delivery models is a bonus.
  • Familiarity with affiliate networks, tracking platforms, and digital advertising tools also a plus.
