Job Introduction
Mail Metro Media is seeking a Commerce Writer to join our growing team to create compelling shopping-focused content including longer lead reviews and features.
The enthusiastic candidate will have excellent writing skills and a strong background in commerce content creation ensuring they serve the best deals and effectively communicate why a product is a great purchase.
The writer will have their finger on the pulse of the latest consumer product must-haves specialising in technology verticals from domestic robots and smart home devices to pet treat dispensers, with a fluent understanding of affiliate platforms and a drive to grow MailOnline\'s UK Commerce offering.
Main Responsibilities

  • Pitch and write excellent, accurate reviews and other shopping articles with a focus on tech
  • Grow traffic and revenue across MailOnline
  • Write on-brand headlines and make use of the best pictures and videos to drive engagement
  • Help plan and execute annual sales events including Black Friday and Amazon Prime Day
  • Work with the Commerce Editor and wider team to create the best articles to be discovered on our own sites, on syndication partner sites and across social media and search
Person Specification
  • Previous experience in producing shoppable content on digital platforms within tech
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism
  • Experience dealing with PR agencies and a black book of contacts
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken English
  • Experience creating affiliate links across third-party platforms
  • Experience using WordPress or similar CMS system
  • Strong commercial outlook, continually seeking ways to advance monetisation
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills
