Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Consultant Costs Draftsman (Legal Aid Specialist) located in the Manchester Area, United Kingdom, with some work from home acceptable. The Consultant Costs Draftsman will be responsible for drafting detailed Bills of Costs, costs budgeting, preparing Points of Dispute and Replies, and handling Part 8 Proceedings and Detailed Assessments. Additional tasks include N260 Statements of Costs preparation, negotiating settlements, and providing full litigation support for cost recovery.
Qualifications
- Expertise in Bill of Costs drafting, costs budgeting, and negotiation
- Experience with Points of Dispute and Replies, and Part 8 Proceedings
- Proficiency in N260 Statements of Costs preparation and strategic cost arguments
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience in Personal Injury, Industrial Disease, and Credit Hire Claims is a plus
- Relevant legal qualifications or significant experience in legal costs drafting
