Our client, a leading player in the Industrial Distribution and Manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the operations of a very successful location in the New York area. As the General Manager, you will be overseeing all operations for the location; managing employees and will have full P&L and Budget responsibilities. You will be responsible for all financial aspects of the location and be directly involved with the Sales Teams. You will manage inventory, purchasing and delivery, and be responsible for the overall operations of the branch. The General Manager will also be responsible for setting strategic goals and direction for the location, working closely with senior management to do so.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial
- Full accountability for the profit/loss of the location.
- Prepares annual branch operating budgets and monitors actual levels against budget levels on a monthly and annual basis.
- Works with senior level management to ensure the achievement of financial targets.
- Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plans for the branch that ensures achievement of center goals and annual targets.
- Plans and establishes systems to monitor and control business expenses at the location.
- Sales
- Develops and coaches the inside/outside staff to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Alongside the sales team, defines strategies, promotes key products, offers excellent customer service, achieves accuracy with orders and increases the average dollar value of orders.
- Meets with key clients as much as possible and acts as the face of the company.
- Inventory Management
- Works closely with the sales team to develop procurement strategies and appropriate mins/maxes to successfully service customers, while also maintaining profitability.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of key levels at all times.
- Responsible for procurement of inventory and on time delivery of stock inventory.
- Operations/Safety
- Provides the strategic direction to achieve and maintain a safe and efficient warehouse.
- Oversees day to day warehouse functions and ensures order accuracy to achieve the highest level of customer satisfaction.
- Creates and maintains a positive and safe work environment.
The ideal candidate:
You will have strong experience in Industrial Distribution – Retail & Operations Management, 5+ Years management experience, will present yourself as a true leader and have the energy and drive to lead the business to success. You will be proactive and be able to motivate and coach your team. You will have knowledge and experience in Industrial Distribution for a manufacturer, distributor, or retailer. You will have an elevated level of motivation, you will lead by example and will not be afraid to go above and beyond expectation for your team and customers.
