DMC Healthcare are seeking a Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our team at Grantham Hospital in Lincolnshire on a contractor basis, working weekends (according to your schedule).
The role: As a Gastroenterologist, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients with digestive system disorders. Your primary duties will include evaluating patients, requesting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing and implementing treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- To be responsible and work independently for the continuing care of patients alongside consultant staff.
- To work independently caring for patients with gastrointestinal complaints.
- To participate in the audit and governance and support other staffing groups that care for our patients.
- To carry out appropriate administrative duties in support of clinical commitments.
- To be a core member and participate in the GI MDT if needed.
- To develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
- To have excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
- To deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
- To follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Full registration with the GMC and on the specialist register.
- Must be a consultant gastroenterologist for at least 1 year.
- JAG accredited and have exceeded the NED minimum KPIs.
- High standard of clinical practice competent across a range of clinical skills supported by professional competence and knowledge including diagnostic and therapeutic Endoscopy skills.
- Provide a high level of leadership to your allocated team.
- Understand safeguarding regulation and ability to escalate concerns from staff.
