We are seeking an experienced UK Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll team. You will support the UK & European employee team by accumulating and processing payroll for employees across multiple jurisdictions.
What You’ll Do- Assist with Mimecast's monthly payroll cycles to ensure these are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
- Process new starters, changes and leavers on ADP and Vistra and maintain employee records.
- Work closely with payroll providers and HR Business Partners to ensure local compliance practices are followed and all payroll/employment tax, government and local filings are submitted in a timely manner.
- Deal with ad hoc queries from employees and HMRC.
- Prepare payroll journals and vacation accruals for the month end process.
- Manage pension contributions.
- Support and assist with quarterly and annual audit deliverables.
- Ensure procedures and controls are adhered to for Sarbanes‑Oxley compliance.
- Ensure adequate and effective policies, processes, procedures and systems are in place to maintain service levels, making suggestions and recommendations for improvement.
- Complete ad‑hoc projects and tasks as required.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Good level of payroll experience gained in fast‑paced, dynamic companies.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements relating to payroll.
- Experience with ADP required.
- Prior experience with HRIS systems (Workday) a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with senior level managers, peers, and business partners.
- Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent working knowledge in Microsoft Excel.
- Propensity to own tasks/projects/recurring deadlines through to completion.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively, independently and in teams, ensuring timely completion of assignments and meeting established standards.
- Capable of thriving in a deadline‑driven and fast‑paced function and environment.
Employees are expected to come to the office at least two days per week, as our hybrid model champions both collaborative teamwork and individual flexibility.
Salary and BenefitsThe base salary range for this position is £40,000–£54,000 plus benefits. The range represents the minimum and maximum new hire compensation for this role. The position may also be eligible for incentive plans and additional benefits, in accordance with company policy and local regulations.
